CELEBRACIÓN DEL DÍA DEL CUENTO EN ESCOCIA

You know how it is. Every October the same. Too cold to train for that charity busting channel swim. Too far away from spring to plan any badger watches with Bill Oddie. Even Christmas seems about as likely as England scoring a penalty.

It’s time to use your imagination! So how very convenient - Tell A Story Day returns on Friday October 27th. And we’ll be encouraging you to find out what that something nasty in the woodshed is.

Our theme this year is Guys and Guisers so what better opportunity to get your bedknobs and broomsticks out and celebrate the spooky season. Scotland has a long tradition of dressing up and offering entertainment at this bewitching time of year so why not combine a bit of harmless exhibitionism with your own storytelling event.

Folk all over Scotland have been celebrating Tell A Story Day in their local area since its inception in 2001. Last year events were held all over the country – from the misty heights of Glencoe to the butterfly houses of Edinburgh, often reaching the places that usually only Caledonian McBrayne go to.

We’ll support you with national publicity and dedicated listings on our website – not to mention free posters that you can advertise your own event on. And don’t forget this is your opportunity to be a storyteller for the day as well as a chance to get your group or community having fun together.

Tell A Story Day is part of The Scottish International Storytelling Festival which runs from Wed 25th October to Sunday 5th November 2006.
